A Brief History of Website and Blog Design

Website and blog design has come a long way since the first dot com heyday of 1999. I have to say that occasionally I have really bad flashbacks to sitting in meetings and explaining (again) that flash, frames and banners are not the way to grow a website – and this was in 1999!

Fast forward to 2009 – I now have conversations with small business owners about why blog website combos are better than a plain website. I talk to them about the fact that flash is a BEAUTIFUL thing but search engines cannot see the code. I tell them that websites are sitting there waiting for search engines to come to them while blog websites are pushing information out to the search engines. (I know, the flash thing is just like Groundhog day – it just keeps coming back!)

AND the cost just keeps coming down! I have a friend who just got a quote for a 5 page website that was for almost $5,000 (FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS!!!!) Whether you use us or someone else, make sure that you are not paying more than about $500 for a basic blog or website design!
